Currently based in South Wiltshire in the New Forest and originally from Australia, I moved to the UK to enjoy the wonderful collections of paintings in London and further afield, while supporting myself as an art teacher.

Bringing together a love of figurative drawing and observing the energy and expression of my own children at play, I create figurative paintings in oil on linen. For these particular works, I use oil almost as a drawing medium, with the fluidity of ink or watercolour. This provides inspiring opportunities to experiment with transparency and other properties of pigments and oil mediums with line, although I am also drawn to a more classical way of working up oil in a traditional sense too, and obsessed with effects of colour and light. When I'm not painting, I am most likely to be gardening, for the simple joy of growing & creating a beautiful and peaceful environment, with inspiring plants to paint.
